About our director

Pride Of The Pacific Chorus is honored to have Dr. Greg Lyne as our Musical Director. Dr. Lyne brings to us musical knowledge, a passion for excellence and a love of four part a cappella harmony. Top that off with a wonderful sense of humor, as you can imagine, we have a lot of fun! Dr. Lyne also directs the premier men’s chorus in the Bay Area, Voices In Harmony. They placed 6th at their first International Competition in Denver, July 2007.  At the 2008 International Competition in Nashville they took 3rd place.  From brand new to bronze in two years.

Dr. Lyne is a full time coach and international faculty for musical ensembles of all types around the world. He is recently retired as the Director of Music Education for the Barbershop Harmony Society, the largest men’s singing organization in the world. Dr. Lyne previously was Professor of Music and Choral Activities at Arizona State University. He served in similar capacities at California State University, Long Beach, DePaul University, Eastern New Mexico University and the University Of Washington.

His reputation in choral directing of all types of music extends around the world. He coaches Sweet Adeline choruses and quartets as well as Harmony, Inc. choruses. He has conducted choruses and choirs throughout the U.S. including Hawaii and Alaska, as well as Canada, England, Scotland, New Zealand and Russia.
